HRM-Run is a heart rate monitor that contains an accelerometer to measure torso motion to provide advanced running dynamics.¹ So, in addition to heart rate, this monitor provides real-time feedback on running form: specifically cadence, ground contact time, and vertical oscillation. ¹NOTE: HRM-Run is compatible with all ANT+ fitness products When the HRM is not working on the Run activity, perform the following steps: 1. Remove the watch and wipe the HRM sensor and any sweat form the wrist. 2. Wear the watch a bit tight on the wrist 3. Go to Heart rate by pressing the down v symbol and then press ^ and Broadcast Heart Rate. [This will trigger the heart rate sensor manually] 4. After that, it asked me to update my HR zones (see photo). So I accepted. But, there is a big difference now - previously Zone 3 was becoming Zone 4 at 144 bpm. Now Zone 3 starts at 143bpm and ends with 154 bpm. My max HR is set to 183 bpm by device, even I am now 41 years old and it should be 179 by calculation, but I assume that those devices All you need to do to see your HRV status on your compatible Garmin watch is to wear your watch overnight to sleep. The normal, healthy degree of variability will differ from person to person, and
Yep. I finally replaced the battery on my HRM RUN (original lasted for a really long time) and now the battery dies after a day. Tried all the tricks found on the forums (reversing battery 30 seconds, leaving battery out for a while, turning off sensor, etc). After going through three batteries in a week I guess it's a lost cause. 1. lodestaris.
The Battle of the Battered Battery. When your Garmin heart rate monitor (HRM) stops working - and it will - typically a couple years (depending on your usage), do not rush into changing the battery. First make sure that the battery is actually dead. Really. Don't rush into changing it thinking its dead. Go to. Settings --> Sensors & Accessories.
tmk2 over 6 years ago +1. When you start your workout you should get a notification that the watch has connected to the sensor. You don't have to turn off the wrist HR. The external sensor takes over whenever it is connected.….

If you run as well as cycle, the HRM-Pro Plus has Garmin's Running Dynamics built in, which'll save you having to purchase something like Garmin's Pod, which costs £59.99 on its own. Running Dynamics measures things like stride length, cadence, ground contact time, vertical ratio, vertical oscillation and left/right foot balance.
