16GB – The sweet spot. If you’re looking for solid performance all-around then 16GB is the perfect RAM size to go for. You’ll be able to do most things you’ll want to do, whether that be gaming or heavy multitasking, and your RAM will hold up. 16GB can make a world of difference when compared to 8GB of RAM for a lot of users.
Mixing different types of ram can cause issues sometimes, it’s a coinflip. Using different speed(Mhz) would make the sticks both run at the lower speed RAM stick, meaning combining a 2666Mhz with any stick that has more than 2666(3200, 3600 and so on) would make them both run at 2666.

8 GB of RAM: Minimum for Music Production. Moderate VST and Plug-in usage. Producing using loops and samples. Light audio recording, mixing, and mastering. Using computer for music production only. You can accomplish a lot with just 8 GB of RAM.
Unreal Engine's been a little fussy with me in the past weeks with only 16 GB of RAM (while also running other apps as well) when I attempt to run certain levels. I feel like adding another 32 GB RAM to the build would help (for a total of 48GB), and further keeping those for a much later upgrade to 64 GB when the time will be right. I got the base model 8GB/256GB M1 Mac mini and can confirm that it’s more than enough for everything that you’ve mentioned above (including Video Editing and, of course, Stadia). The base model is also the best value of all the M1s at the moment. Can’t really justify paying 30% more just for the additional 8GB of unified RAM. Alternatively, the existing memory could be completely replaced with a new purchased RAM kit such as 16GB (2 x 8GB) or 32GB (2 x 16GB). Final Thoughts While it is technically possible to mix RAM brands, doing so can cause various problems. The reason is simple, it runs dual channel up to 16 Gb and single channel on the rest of 8 Gb. Sisoftsandra values about 18 Gbps memory bandwith. With dual channel it reach 25 Gbps, single module 13 Gbps. So just upgrade to biggest single module you can get and keep the old RAM. 24 Gb total RAM is better than 16 Gb. Share.
Check that first. Even if it supports it is advised for using same sized RAM in both slots if you are both. So if your system supports 8 gigs go for two 8 gigs or two 4 gigs. Also choose the
1. Follow step 1 to 2 of the “To remove the memory module” section to shut down your Synology NAS, disconnect the cables and remove the drive trays. 2. Insert the new memory module into the empty slot: a. Align the small gap between the gold connectors of the memory module with the notch on the empty slot. Insert the memory module into the Th49.
