Be advised that for current build of L4D2 & workshop, you need to use the following command to load fonts from console: alias reloadfont "mat_setvideomode 1920 1080 1; mat_setvideomode 1920 1080 0". -you need to replace "1920 1080" with your l4d2 resolution and then add it to your autoexec.cfg in /cfg folder.
It recognized most of my other games' files/folders in it (e.g. Killing Floor, Assassin's Creed series). Just to clarify, Steam was able to create a new directory in the HDD yet it won't allow L4D2 to be installed there (unlike some other games which were enabled to do so). If your game often crashes or you noticed some issuses/problems it can have many reasons. First check if your computer is able to run Left 4 Dead 2 (minimum requierements: OS: Windows® 7 32/64-bit / Vista 32/64 / XP. Processor: Pentium 4 3.0GHz. Memory: 2 GB RAM. Graphics: Video card with 128 MB, Shader model 2.0. ATI X800, NVidia 6600 or better.
